Quick Update.
It's been a while since the last post, so I thought I should update. We just painted the living room and dining room of our apartment. Previously, the walls had been a mauve color that really brought out the BRAND NEW brown swirly carpet! It looks much better. Unfortunately, our camera is busted, so no pictures available. But the dining room is a buttery yellow, and the living room is "seaweed" green, or an avocado. The bedroom will turn light blue soon. I am just excited to finally be able to put stuff up on the walls, and already feel more at home. It's amazing how much color can affect you. The mauve was so depressing to me, and I felt disappointed every time I walked in the door. Our hallway is still that color... But it could be handy to keep, just to show people how much better things look in contrast!
On another note, we will be leaving for Oregon on Thursday to spend time with Jeff's family and to see Joy and Chris. We are so excited, a little anxious about the freezing weather, and glad for a change of scenery (and to be away from the paint fumes!) We have really enjoyed having family all over the place to go and visit-- though I have to confess I'd much rather have you down the street! Guess I can't have everything (everyone.) I am just thankful to be closer to the ones here, and the great fortune of actually being able to travel and see everyone. So wonderful!

After subletting a few places for 6 months to a year at a time and not changing the decor, I also came to realize what a huge effect color has on my psyche. I often wonder why it affects some more strongly than others. I think it would make an interesting personality study.

Hey Ariana...glad you and Jeff are back. Hope Oregon was good. I hope to get together with you two soon...I don't have your new number so I will try to get that from Dave/Heather. See you later!

Those apartments look so great with good paint. All the trim and everythings stands out beautifully. I have found that ugly walls are so uninspiring for me too. There's just no point to decorating. Its like putting a bandaid on a broken arm.
