More Kitchen Views...

Last weekend, Jeff and his dad installed a new sink and countertops. I can't believe the difference it makes! We had really wanted to get an apron front sink, but they are SO expensive, and the one we found at IKEA was too big for our little kitchen. I found a sink I liked at Home Depot for $175, then found the same sink on craigslist for $25, and it included faucet fixtures we like!!! The sinks in the last two places we've lived have been pretty old and problematic, and never ever really looked clean, no matter how hard we tried. It has been amazing to see a nice, clean bright white sink every day!
Of course, I have to do before and after shots.

We also moved the fridge into the utility room off the kitchen (Joy's idea,) and put this bakers' rack in its place. I love having our casual dishes, glasses, etc. so accessible, all in one little "station," and it really opens the space up.

What lovely changes you've made! Sweat equity is rightly named! Uncle Kirk and I bought and fixed up 2 houses-it's hard work!!

Oh yeah, MUCH better! I love the yellow!
Funny, it took me a couple minutes to realize there were before and after pictures... I kept wondering how those angles could make such a difference!

Beautiful! Did you get your counter from Ikea? I have looked at one like for when we finally fix up our kitchen. :)

Heidi, yes-- our countertops are from Ikea, and they were so affordable. Go for it!

I love the new sink and fixture. I am working with 70's laminate counters again... yippee! I hadn't thought to check ikea for counters. I will have to look, although it will probably have to be a few years down the road for us. It is fun to dream anyway. I like your bakers rack, too! Very cute!
