Living Room

Yahoo! Our new glass door lets in so much light!

Our fireplace is the first thing you see when you come in. The cow is pretty much in there all the time, since it looks so empty otherwise. We're still trying to figure out something a bit more interesting and grown up for its "off season."

Our little living room area, finally complete (for now.) You may have noticed that we have LOTS of mirrors-- trust me, it's not so much about vanity as it is about maximizing the little light we have!

We have a really nice, big maple tree to look at out this window, and the lilacs that hedge the yard are such a gift!

All your photos look really great! And I love your new doors. Among a million other things that need replacement we have a front door that could use replacing. When the time comes, I am definitely going to look into that option. The extra light would be wonderful!

Your house looks darling! I love the colors, textures and arrangements of items (both pleasing and practical). YOu are very clever. I like the cow in the fireplace. Many times here in the summer you will find fireplaces with arangements of large Jeffrey pine cones. Three of them can fill up a good sized fire place. I just love our glass door too! It brightend a formerly dark corner perfectly!

I already saw your photos on facebook, but it's been fun reading about how you decided to arrange things, etc. I really like your style.

Regarding the fireplace, my in-laws (the only fire-place owners in my family) keep a wide candelabra with chunky candles in their fireplace for the off-season. I don't know if your daughter would get into them or not. Also, a nice bonsai might be nice. Enjoy your home!
