Milestone: Mimi's First Wipeout
I was at a neighbor friend's house doing laundry yesterday (our washer broke,) whilst cleaning up her house to thank her. I was taking the compost out in the back yard, and Amelia found a very flimsy chair to climb on. She fell pretty badly, and beyond scraping her nose and nostrils, she has a big bump on her head, a cut inside her mouth and two skinned knees. She actually handled it pretty well. She thinks her scabs are funny when she looks in the mirror, but whenever I mention going back to my friend's house, she goes through a verbal inventory of what happened. It could have been so much worse, and I am frankly surprised she lasted this long! Surely more to come, but I still feel bad for her.

Oh what a trooper she is! Just like her mama. =)
oh, poor thing.
I remember when we first moved to Chicago and Ellie fell out of the grocery cart. She had the scariest black eye! Then, a few days later, my arm got stuck in a glass door and I was screaming for help ( I knew no neighbors and feared putting down a barely 2 year old and watch her wonder off)
needless to say, she spoke for months about these experiences in a very matter of fact way listing all the components to the story. I think the birth of Simon stopped her and gave her something else to talk about!

I like the nickname Mimi, so cute!
Looks like she's a pro at recovering from a bad tumble! That's a an essential quality (as we accident proned can testify)!
poor thing!
Ah, baby! Glad she handled it so bravely. I think these things are harder on the mothers sometimes. Just remember how many people in the world today survived childhood!
Ouch. Like her mother, she seems to appreciate the humor in her mishaps. :)
I am so glad she's okay. Her little scabby nose is cute.
Aww, poor baby. Maybe she will balance better with some new Kuuru shoes!
That's right, you and Mimi have won a pair in my giveaway:

Oui. We got some in size 5 so we'll be ready when she grows out of the other shoes we finally found for her unusually petite feet.
