"Good things come to those who wait..." ...and wait... and wait...
The escrow on our house was supposed to close on Monday. Then Tuesday. Today.... Now tomorrow around noon. The crazy-making thing is that this is Jeff's last week of break before he goes back to work, and the timing WAS perfect, since we were planning on spending the week working on it and moving in while he was free. Oh, well. I really do believe it will happen tomorrow, and I guess that, in the end, I don't have much too complain about-- we can't wait to move in!!!

Sounds like our place! The original closing date was the 28th of July, and then the 10th of August. The realtor kept saying she was still trying to close by the end of July. We did not hold our collective breath. When the 10th grew close, it was moved to the 14th, and then again to the 17th. We did close on the 17th, and like you we were just happy to move in.
...and now it's 6 p.m. tonight, not noon...
We waited so long, that I kind of didn't believe it was really our house when we finally did close. Moving in felt surreal. Now it has definitely sunk in, and I am enjoying myself in between spurts of scrubbing and trying to get gunky contact paper out of the kitchen cabinets. I can't wait until it actually feels like home. And I am wishing I liked white paint on the walls, because then that day would come a whole lot sooner!
Hi Ariana,
Just stumbled onto your blog from doro's blog. It's good to see you again... via blog of course. I'd love to catch up some time, if that's really possible. Amelia is adorable!

Did it happen? Did you move in?
Yes, we finally moved in yesterday, and it is a big mess over there, but we are really excited. We don't have internet there yet, so it may be a little while before I can put another update.
Hi Patty! I'm glad you found me-- I haven't been able to track you down!
Your house is so sweet. Thanks for posting lots of photos. It's great to have a place of your own. So different than renting.
Hurray! Congratulations! Can't wait to see pictures of the house looking like yours.
You guys are making Oregon look pretty darn appealing...affordable homes, family friendly community, cool movie theatre, fun jobs...very tempting.
ARIANA!!! I just came across your blog! It was great to catch up with you and your sweet family! And, you aren't so terribly far away from me either! My hubby and our 4 kids live in Central WA (Yakima)... so about 4 hours away. My parents are living in Oregon now about an hour south of you so perhaps we can make a connection one of these days! Naomi and I keep saying we'll hook up (she's in portland also) and we have yet to make it happen...sigh. LIfe is so full it seems. Feel free to check out my blog too :) www.6nutts.blogspot.com
